It is with deep regret at this time that we have been notified of the loss of one of our students. In order to provide students a place to gather and process this unfortunate event, School District Staff and various professionals will be available at the High School from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm on Monday, July 3rd.
The School District of Florence County has a limited number of used iPad 6th gen for sale. They are sold as is and have been factory reset. They do not come with a charging cord. They are available at the Florence County Library.

Colt Atwell was Top Gun in Northeast Red Division, 1st Place Team Shooter (team top gun), & 1st Place All-Conference in Intermediate/Entry Level class.

Florence 8th graders celebrated graduation, by heading to Wisconsin Dells to celebrate & enjoy a day at the Kalahari Waterpark. Congratulations!
Students in the TROOP (Together Reaching Our Own Potential) Group had an end-of-the-year celebration. The group prepared and ate a meal, played games, and celebrated the students who will be leaving the TROOP. Everyone in the TROOP had a great year!
The next game (Sectional play) will be played on Tuesday, June 6 in Athens at Athens Tucker Westfall Memorial Field at 10:00 AM against Edgar.

Congratulations to Kamdan Johnson and Blake Smith for breaking track records. Kamdan broke the 100-meter high hurdles record and Blake broke the 110-meter high hurdles record. Congratulations !!
Florence Elementary School - Bobcat Walk - June 6 at 1:30PM
Families are welcome to walk with their students and join us after for a smoothie.
Students should dress for the weather, including comfortable walking shoes and sunscreen.
There will be home WIAA Regional softball and/or baseball games today (5/23) and Thursday (5/25). Admission will be $6.00 per child/student/adult.

Florence High School Freshmen who were eligible for the 30-Day Challenge went to the Potawatomi Community Center in Crandon. To be eligible, students needed to have no missing assignments, no failing grades, no unexcused absences, and fewer than 3 majors for the first 30 days.
Florence County School District is honored to receive scholarship funding for a Florence High School senior with aspirations to continue their post-secondary studies in the natural sciences and pursue a degree in fisheries, wildlife, forestry, soils, geology, biology, or environmental studies. To qualify for consideration, eligible seniors were required to submit as part of their application an outline of their high school achievements and future plans in their chosen field. This year the Florence County Land Scholarship in Memory of Robert R. Peterson in the amount of $5,247.07, will be awarded to FHS senior Caitlyn Kelley. Caitlyn is the daughter of Ed and D’Nelle Kelley of Florence. She is the 2023 FHS Valedictorian. Her athletic ability is evident in her two-time WIAA State Wrestling Champion titles, and she has also been named a two-time Academic All-State award winner, ASA Photographer of the Year, and a HOPE Creative Writing Contest winner. Caitlyn plans to attend the University of Stevens Point to pursue a degree in Biology, leading to a career as a physician assistant.
Gavin Holdaway received a $12,000 scholarship from Billerud Paper Mill to attend NWTC and signed his commitment to working there after graduation.

Florence County Dollars for Scholars held its 1st Annual Scholarship Banquet. Forty-one scholarships were awarded, totaling $90,547.07. Thank you to all the Donors & Board Members for making this possible! Congratulations to all of our recipients.
