The Florence Jazz Band is an extra-curricular, not-for-credit ensemble that meets before school two days a week and performs at several events throughout the school year, including the High School Winter Concert, High School Spring Concert, Christmas in Florence, and the WSMA Solo & Ensemble Festival. The members consist of band students in grades 7-12 who choose to participate. The ensemble is open to any band member, regardless of instrument. We also allow non-band members to fill open positions, with instructor approval.

Jazz Band allows students to explore and participate in a genre of music that is truly American Made. Students have the opportunity to learn a second instrument and learn strong sight reading and improvising skills. The Jazz Band has been performing since 2011, and has received a first place rating at Solo & Ensemble festival every year it has performed.
