🎃📚 Spooky Good Times: Mrs. Merhalski's Class Welcomes Halloween Themed Slumberkin Books and Plushies! 📚🎃
Hey there, fellow bookworms and Slumberkin enthusiasts! The excitement in Mrs. Merhalski's class is through the roof as we welcome some adorable new additions to our library - Halloween-themed Slumberkin books and plushies! 📖🧸
This week, our little bookworms had the fantastic opportunity to dive into the magical world of Slumberkin, a series that encourages kids to explore their emotions, build self-confidence, and embrace their uniqueness. And what better time to do it than during the spook-tacular season of Halloween?
The book we explored this week, "The Costume Comeback at the Monster Ball," takes readers on an enchanting journey with Sloth as he embarks on an adventure to the Monster Ball. Along the way, Sloth encounters various characters and learns some essential life lessons.
The story is not just about cute and cuddly creatures dressing up for Halloween; it's about self-acceptance, embracing one's feelings, and finding the courage to be oneself. 🎉
🎃🌟 Embrace Your Uniqueness 🌟🎃
As a group, Mrs. Merhalski's class delved into the important message of the book. We discussed the value of being different from others and how it makes each of us special in our own way. 💖
It's all too easy for kids (and even grown-ups!) to compare themselves to others, especially during Halloween when we see an array of imaginative costumes. Sloth's journey serves as a poignant reminder that it's perfectly okay to be unique and to express ourselves in our own authentic way. 🦥✨
Throughout the week, students had the chance to snuggle with their very own Slumberkin plushies, creating a sense of comfort and connection with the story's characters. This hands-on experience made the lessons from the book all the more tangible and memorable. 🥰🧸
👥📚 Encouraging Empathy and Emotional Intelligence 📚👥
In addition to fostering self-confidence, these stories from Slumberkin also promote empathy and emotional intelligence. Our students were encouraged to discuss their feelings and experiences, further reinforcing the idea that it's alright to feel the way they do and to share those feelings with friends and family. 💬❤️
The students left this week's session not only with a newfound appreciation for their own uniqueness but also with a greater sense of understanding and compassion for others. What a fantastic way to kick off the Halloween season.🎃📚
Mrs. Merhalski's class is already looking forward to their next adventure with Slumberkin, as we continue to explore the magic of stories, emotions, and the importance of embracing our individuality.

🌟✨ Mrs Baciak's 4th Grade Class participated in The Classmate Scavenger Hunt Adventure! ✨🌟 🔍🕵️♀️ Imagine the excitement and buzz in the library as the students embarked on a thrilling journey of discovery with the Classmate Scavenger Hunt! 🕵️♂️🔍 👫 In the spirit of building strong bonds and creating a vibrant learning environment, Mrs. Mendina came up with a brilliant idea to help her students get to know each other better. She introduced the Classmate Scavenger Hunt - a fantastic icebreaker activity that would engage every student and encourage them to mingle with classmates they might not have spoken to before. 🧩 The rules were simple: each student had just 5 minutes to move around the room, engaging in conversations with their peers, in order to find a different classmate for each category presented. Categories ranged from "Who has flown on an airplane before?" and "Who has brown eyes?" to "Who has been on TV?" and many more. It was an interactive puzzle waiting to be solved! 🗺️ As the hunt began, the classroom was filled with laughter, whispers, and exclamations of surprise as students uncovered unexpected facts about their fellow classmates. Shy smiles transformed into enthusiastic conversations, and soon, no corner of the room was left untouched. 🤝 What made the Classmate Scavenger Hunt even more special was that it encouraged students to connect with everyone in the class, not just their close friends. It broke down barriers, nurtured empathy, and fostered a sense of belonging among the students. 🌟 Mrs. Mendina beamed with pride as she observed her students enthusiastically participating in the activity. "This is what education is all about," she thought, "building connections, fostering friendships, and celebrating each other's uniqueness." 📸 The Classmate Scavenger Hunt also provided a wonderful opportunity for students to celebrate their diverse backgrounds and experiences, fostering an atmosphere of inclusivity and appreciation for one another. 🌍🚀 In just a few short minutes, these young explorers embarked on a journey of self-discovery, learning, and connection. The Classmate Scavenger Hunt proved that sometimes, all it takes is a fun, interactive activity to bring us closer together. #GoFloCats
